Lazy Sunday
I am trying out Picasa for the first time not too sure if I got all this right. I took these pics of Erin and her friend yesterday on their normal Sunday ride. Erin is on bay not the grey. The two of them ride to the Alphen trail in Constantia and are normally on horseback for a couple of hours. I just love all the scenery around them, not many places like this in the world, where you are still welcome to ride your horse on the greenbelts.

Thanks for your first visit. So far, I love your blog, just need to go to the library to work on my book. Will spend more time looking at it tonight. Is that a rat terrier you have? We have one, Cookie, and I love her to death.
See ya.
Picasa is great but I still have some serious frustrations with it - I think because I have still have stuf to learn about using it.
Lovely pics - looks kinda British, doesn't it?
I remember a few years ago, when I lived in those parts, and kept my horse at home, a friend and I (who stabled with me) would go out onto the greenbelts at times when we were most likely to NOT run into lane girls! We both owned ex-open-eventers who were more than happy to take up the challenge of showing the lane horses what they were still made of in their old age (when I say old I mean like 15, so not really 'old' at all). We'd go out, head up to the section of greenbelt near rathfelder ave where there are fallen logs and let the 'boys' open up a bit and remember the good old days. We considered ourselves very lucky if we didn't come across (the scourge of the greenbelt as we called it) those galloping monsters*
*I totally love the lane kids, we didn't really hate them, they just terrified the POO out of us with their confidence and awesome skill.
Ness - YOu are sooo funny, Erin is a Lane girl but she doesnt compete at all yet (how lucky am I)? Did you recognise old Rocket or do the girls just look like Lane girls?
Gutsywriter - Hi, My dog Mollie is a Jack Russel of sorts, not a very good specimen, love the name Rat Terrier.
Sorry ... lost me with all your 'horsey' talk!! ... and sorry, the scenery is beautiful, but here in NZ thats what it kinda look like everywhere ...
WTG Blogfriend! See now, you are just as clever with your computer. NOTHING hard there & the pics look wonderful. You can even print & scrap them just like that!
Topkatnz - Thats why they say NZ is soooo beautiful, its wierd NZ so green and lush and Oz so dry (in parts).
Hi Jo! Gosh, I have Picasa and have never used it---I had no idea it could do stuff like that. I love the layout of your photos, very cool.
That scenery is to die for. So beautiful. And sunny. And warm. So different to Norway right now...
Love the photos - didn't realize picasa could do that either. Must try it out some day.
