Living with elderly people can be exhausting. My poor Mum is hardly able to move around never mind vacuum, dust and even general tidying up. So that's where I come in, today I vacuumed her ceilings which had cobwebs from corner to corner and moved the furniture and vacuumed behind cupboards etc. It really made me think of how debilitating pain can be and the value of being active and healthy whatever your age. So next time you don't feel like doing the housework think about what it would be like if you couldn't do it?
As for her partner who is suffering with Parkinson's, he has been having hallucinations at night from some new trial medication. He wanders around the lounge trying to 'keep the table from moving around' and talking to non existent people (ghosts maybe?) it seems to be very similar to the dt's. So never a dull moment around here.
The temp here today - 3 degrees so I took myself out in the rain and wind for an invigorating walk, amazing I really enjoyed it my face was like ice when I got back but everything else was like toast thanks to my ski gear courtesy of Tanya. I am hoping that the snow reaches these parts soon but it better be soon because I leave for my job on Sat morning and that is further south.

Wow you are having 'fun and games' with your Mum and her partner. Glad you are finding moments to enjoy even in the colder weather ... I think we do get caught up thinking only warm is good, but really there is much beauty in cooler weather too ...
I love reading what you're getting up to. Sorry aboutHimself though... must be un-nerving. I still think housework sucks, even though you did a pretty darn good sell on all it's benefits.
It must be a bit of a worry seeing your Mum and partner like this and hoping that its a situation that improves. All the best for Saturday.
Sorry not sold on the housework either! LOL
The vacuum cleaner is still standing in the lounge and its 21.30 LOL x
I wont moan again about the housework. At least not this week....
Ja, amazing how chores are a trial until something happens and you can't do them any more.
Its also amazing how easily we forget that view when all is well with our bodies though.
The rest sounds a tad daunting.
How about some pics, Jo?
It would be good to see the people and places. . . .
Sounds like it's been real week hey? Great for your Mum to have you around though...I can just imagine you on your vacuuming mission....driven as you are :o) :o)
Shame that the med's seem to have such radical side effects, are there other alternatives??
All the best for Sat if I don't speak to you before then.
XXX
Shame, that sounds sad! But good for you for helping them to get everything spick & span, and should be good practice for your job, lol!
